Welcome to this week's episode of Chinggastles Combat Crew. You're one stop shop for all your combat news for the week. I got my boy Fonzo How you doing today, fonzo.
Speaker 2:Doing great man having a drink about to get into some good-ass topics. Some fight news coming up, super excited for what's coming up ahead in July. So yeah, what's going on? How are you doing?
Speaker 1:I'm doing good, dude. I was just going over the rundown of all the topics we're gonna be talking about and I'm pumped to be talking. We got lots of UFC news, a little bit of boxing news, again a little bit of Jiu-Jitsu, but the majority of the show is Gonna be UFC talk. So one thing of that I'm also gonna be doing out there for everybody listening is I'm gonna be Breaking down the episode, this particular episode, in a chapter. So if you just want to skip around, you can skip each chapter, skip each story to get to what you want to hear about. And if you're watching on YouTube, or if you're not watching on YouTube, subscribe to our YouTube page at C underscore combat crew. But we're gonna be doing the same thing over there chapters. So that way you can skip around and get to the stories that you want to hear about or watch the most. So, fonzo, you ready to do this? bro, let's go. Oh yeah, let's get started talking a little bit of boxing. You know that that's something that we don't too often talk about, so if you know we're talking about it, it's major, major news, and you hit me up with this. What was this like? Thursday afternoon, they confirmed this.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, bro, it's going down. And little Alvarez looks like he's got a dance partner and it's Jermel, charlo Jermel, one of the two twins. Looks like the fight's gonna be going down September 30th and it's fork on it. Oh, undisputed light middleweight strap, bro. So uh, i'm sorry, the suit, yeah, super middleweight, yeah and. And Jermel is the undisputed light middleweight champ, so it looks like he's gonna be having to move up in weight so that he can accommodate for this dance. What do you think about?
Speaker 2:this dude, he's a, he's a, he's big for his For his weight class anyways so you know what I mean. If you moving up, i don't think is gonna be like too big of a deal, although you know Canella's a big dude too, anyways for his weight class. So you know it's gonna present a problem. I was checking out a couple of Charlo's fights recently. Dude is a nice counter puncher, dude, he's that's kind of a specialty. He likes to kind of wait. He's got some pretty strong up. You know shots He's got. You know he's got a good technique. But I Don't know, man, i think this is, this is Canella's fight all the way, just to style. I don't think I think Charlo is gonna be able to to keep Canella Bay, because even even with, even with the counter punching, i think Canella uses a lot of good head movement and And footwork on inside. Yeah, and those body shots definitely So I don't think, i don't think Charlo is gonna be able to to do anything about it. It's still gonna be a good fight, though I think it'll be competitive up until a certain point, but then I think Canella's just gonna end up Taking it. I think it's gonna go to decision. I don't think he's gonna be able to put him away, because he does. Charlo does have a chin, but we'll see. Man, it's gonna be good.
Speaker 1:I'm excited for it, anyways yeah, it's gonna be another good scrap Dude, another like another good dessert that boxing is serving up because, like you said, charlo ain't no punk. You know he is moving up and wait, but he's a big boy and He's got different tools, different tools. It's gonna be a really good test for Canella but, like you said, i think I know is just gonna Just gonna have too much and pour it on too much. You know what I mean. Yeah, he's just got too many tools at his at his disposal and I, like I think you were saying it's gonna be competitive. I don't know. I see it being competitive through right rounds, three and four, then after that, then body shots, when Canella starts digging into his guts Gonna start taking over and he's gonna start slowing down and then that gap is just gonna get wider and wider. Yeah.
Speaker 2:I was thinking up until about about round six is when I would see it a competitive fight, and then after that You're absolutely right, but you think is gonna get there quicker, it might, i think. I think you might be right with that too. We'll see. You know I mean it depends what.
Speaker 1:Which Canelo shows up. Is he just gonna try to cruise through the fight or is he gonna try to make a statement to prove that a? you know, i can take anybody Supposed to take off. Who was the other guy he was supposed to take on? but besides this there was another potential opponent. Be love remember the guy that he lost bevel. Yeah, there you go, the guy he lost to last time.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so he's gotta make a statement. He's gotta make a statement with this fight, that's exactly what I'm thinking.
Speaker 1:I'm thinking that he wants to try to make a statement to prove the fans, prove the writers wrong and that he does belong at the top upper echelon. But if he can't get past Charlo and he can't get past beevil than a. You know, maybe he's not that caliber, so but should be fun, should be a good fight September 30th. Looking forward to it. Dude Bro, a little bit of jiu-jitsu news, and this isn't really news. More like cheese man, bro. This is Gordon Ryan. You know the goat, the no-key goat, right? Yeah freaking buffed out Santa Claus a couple of days before UFC Had their jiu-jitsu show a couple days ago. Gordon post this out and he says a anybody that submits a B team member Will be given $500. So essentially he's putting out a bounty out there for anybody that submits Craig, nikki, rod, hi, sun, rita or anybody else that trains with anybody. And I guess this is not Wasn't just for the UFC five-pass invitation or four. This goes for everything global. And any any, any tournament at any time, because if you read in the comments you know There's a couple of people out there that are saying hey, you know what I? where's my 500 bucks?
Speaker 2:I see that Someone call the IRS but how about that third comment, craig?
Speaker 1:What?
Speaker 2:do you?
Speaker 1:say I'll be myself off for far less than 500. I Craig loses, he wins. Bro, i love I love that hey wait.
Speaker 2:But speaking of Gordon Ryan, did he bulk up again? I saw a picture recently of him like he's even more jacked than he was before. Is that is that? Is that for reals? Is that a fake pick?
Speaker 1:more not, that's pretty sure, that's real. He looks more barrel-chested, no, like chunky.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but he looked like he's. He looks more jacked than he was like. He looks like he put out now a lot more mass.
Speaker 1:Yeah, maybe man, maybe he's hitting the taco bar on Tuesdays too hard, i don't know, yeah. But yeah, you're right, he did look a little thick Yeah right.
Speaker 2:Thicker than a bowl meals.
Speaker 1:Yeah Well, the bounty for the show that Gordon was talking about is right. It came and went Thursday afternoon and it was UFC five pass, invitational four, with the main event being Felipe Benna taking on Craig Jones, co-main event of Glover to Cheryl versus Anthony Smith, two UFC veterans. And then they also had an eight man Absolute tournament that was winner was took home 30k bro. So I don't want to go over all of the matches, but just some of the highlights. So in the finals of the absolute tournament ended up being big Dan Manisau Versus Nikki Ra. Now, big Dan Manisau is one of Gordon Ryan's Protégés, like that's one of his training partners. Dude is only like 20, 21 years old but he is like autistic Spectrum, like super dialed in every time. No facial expressions will snap your leg in an instant, just a threat at all times. Actually hit a pretty sick Bernardo for Ria Nebar when he was attempting to pass his opponent in the second round, the semis. But he did face Nikki, rod and dude. It ended up going into overtime. Oh what? what happened? I'm sorry, all right. So the match ended up going into overtime and if you're not familiar with with the rules set here for UFC fight pass, they are for their invitations. They use the ebi rules. Those are the Eddie Bravo invitation ovals. So they they gotten that's no point to submission only during regulation. Then it goes into three over times if needed, where each opponent gets to pick where they're going to start from, like a do you want to start from the dude's back? Do you want to start like an arm bar, spider position, or I think those are the only two positions that they get to pick from, or at least those the only two that they used. And so, uh, if no one submits anybody, then they go to escape time, kind of like in wrestling, when they do right time. All right right, it's the reverse, and so this ended up going to, i believe, the second overtime And this is Nikki rod Getting, or this is Dan Manasel choosing to start in the spider web guard, spider web arm bar position with Nikki rod. So check this out, dude, check it out, cannot believe. If he does, i want to show you. Just gonna definitely regret going back to this position, but Oh, oh shit.
Speaker 2:Oh.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but he's fighting it, Oh what?
Speaker 2:the f*** right Dude.
Speaker 1:How, how, for those of you out there listening, you gotta go watch the youtube video of our episode today so that you can check this clip out. Uh, if you can, i'm also gonna post all the links to all today's episodes that we're gonna be previewing in the show notes So you can check that out. But basically, nikki rod laying on his back, fully extended arm bar by dad Manasel He's able to turn his arm and just ripped it out, just ripped it out, and so Eventually uh, you know, he escaped in like eight seconds or some crap. And then before and then right after that, nikki rod chooses to start from Dan's back And as they're getting set up, you can hear Eddie Bravo mentioned something about all that arms Super compromised, he's probably not gonna be able to use it. And then, eight seconds later, he uses that same arm to get under the chin of Dan and chokes him out and becomes the absolute champ. And then he calls out Gordon Ryan afterwards in his post fight interview Damn Yeah. He calls him out and he says There's the stipulation to this call out, let's both remain clean, natty, and we're gonna take a drug test before the match and after the match to ensure that we're natural. So that was the challenge. Gordon Heard the challenge afterwards and he's like, no, i'm not interested. He's not gonna make any money off my name blah blah blah and then just proceeded to skirt out the building.
Speaker 2:In other words, i want to stay on the juice for a little bit longer, Or a lot of it longer probably Probably the main event though.
Speaker 1:So so Philippa Benna and Craig Jones a lot of back and forth. Craig was getting the better of it. He was able to take his back, but there wasn't any Point so he didn't get anything for that. It ended up going into over three, over times. It was actually a pretty boring match, dude. Yeah, pretty boring match, uh, but it ended up going into triple overtime, where Craig won by escape time. All right, yeah. So I guess Philipp is now gonna take on Highsum Rita In a who's number one matchup next. I believe, or I don't know, if it's gonna be on UFC five pass or flows Who's number one. I think it's on flows Who's number one, but Highsum Rita couldn't even get out of the first round of this tournament. Dude, again, it's a smaller guy, damn, lost by escape time as well. So let me give you the results real quick. In the first round, first round we saw Dan menacell versus Gabriel arches. Dan submitted man Submitted Gabriel by heel hook in round one. In the next matchup, we saw Highsum Rita taking on fader or Nikola. Nikola was a heavy Plus seven hundred underdog and he ended up winning in triple overtime by. Damn yeah, by escape time. Next matchup was Philippa Andrew versus Wagner Rocha. Wagner Rocha ended up winning by heel hook, dude. It was kind of crazy because Philipp was going for like what looked like a calf crusher or Right a calf crusher, i believe and Wagner kind of just let him have it and Right, when he let him go, he left his leg open and Wagner just grabbed it and he'll hook the crap out of him, dude. So why did he?
Speaker 2:let it go?
Speaker 1:Was he like, yeah, he was right after that, nikki rod versus Roberto Jimenez. That ended up going into three over times and Nikki rod ended up winning by escape time. Next up, we had a female matchup, which was Helena Craevar the Dude. She's only like 16 And I'm not sure what belt she is. She might be like a blue or a purple, but she's a killer. She should be black belt. What's the age limit for these tournaments?
Speaker 2:It's. This is adult dude. She's competing against adults.
Speaker 1:I don't think she was competing, and against adult this time around. She, the girl she was competing against, was pretty young, emily Fernandez. I don't know too much about her, but, uh right, the lana ends up winning by rear naked in regulation. There was a super fight with Roman Bravo, young. I believe he's also a Penn State all-american national champion wrestler Just a stud Stud, i believe. He wrestled with bow. Nickel helped him win like a couple national championships, but he had a grappling match, a super fight, against Alex Perez. Alex Perez, ufc veteran LaMour, native Shout out central valley. Uh, but another snooze fest, dude. There's no, no feet stuff allowed in this. Yeah, sorry, cousin, i know that's what you like.
Speaker 2:Well, that's probably why he didn't want. That's probably why he's not here, because he didn't want.
Speaker 1:He was, he was mad.
Speaker 2:He was pounding.
Speaker 1:Yep.
Speaker 2:The next matchup was Dan.
Speaker 1:Manisau taking on Fedor or Nikola, who had just slayed one of the giants and one of the favorites in the tournament high. Some Rita and dan ended up finishing him with that Knee bar that I was telling you about, damn. Next matchup was Nikki rod Wagner Rocha. I believe that ended up going into overtime as well, and He ended up dubbing him with a, not a, fully locked in rear naked because he was on the chin. But he, he tapped out, dude, and then we propped about Craig Jones and Philippe and the rest of the uh, absolute tournament already. So, yeah, bro, switching over. Let's freaking do this. You ready. Switching gears, man, i'm all, i'm all about this fight. I Now tell the public, bonzo, what are we talking about, and what are you so hyped up about?
Speaker 2:So we're talking about Shavkat Rakhmanov versus Kevin gaslam, slated to take place September 16th in Las Vegas. Fucking gonna be a great fight. Shavkat is one of those guys that just coming up. Hold on, cut, cut back. Do that one more time.
Speaker 1:Okay, just from the like the last three seconds. All right, so Shavkat Robimanov is one of the one of those guys that's coming up.
Speaker 2:You know we were super excited to see him like. He's always got some exciting footage. He's got good stand-up, good wrestling, just well-rounded fighter man, and he's been on a fucking tear. So you know, we're excited to see get Kevin gaslam do this. I'm excited to see get Kevin gaslam do this just because He's dropping down in weight class for this right It's yeah, yeah, this is gonna be a welterweight, yeah, so he's been competing at middle weight. Right, i'm excited because I mean Kevin, he's got. He's his track record, you know, hasn't been that good ever since he moved up and I think he does better In the slower weight division. You know, i mean he's not as he's not as slow, um, and he's got. I mean because he's bigger, he's got a lot better chances to like bully his um, you know his opponents around a little bit using his wrestling. So I'm excited for that about You, kevin's wrestling versus Shavkat's grappling skills here.
Speaker 1:Dude, that's. That might be the difference, you know. I mean, like if you look at the wrestling it might be pretty even. You know what I mean, but the striking might be pretty even as well, maybe a little a smaller edge to Kelvin, but I don't know what their reaches. I'd be interested to see what that reaches gonna be.
Speaker 2:That's a good call out dude. I didn't think about that, you're right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know. And and another thing is, like you said, kelvin's moving down, so is he's gonna be. He's been used to banging with the middleweight, so this is gonna be a. I mean, the guys are a little bit smaller, not much, but is that gonna translate into a difference? is that gonna give him a little more stamina, a little more, you know it? does his chin get a couple more points because of that? I don't, i don't know. I Don't know what the odds are on this. I wish they, but they're not out yet, i guess, because it's a little too far away. I would imagine that rock bottom is gonna be a little a slight favorite in this, maybe actually not. I bet you he's gonna be a heavy favorite, bro.
Speaker 2:Well, dude. Well, here's the deal. I Hey, kevin's got bombs, dude. So Kevin's got bombs and Jeff Neil was able to put Shafka on some skates for a little bit in their fight. Do you remember that? Yes, but Jeff.
Speaker 1:Neal's got good stat Really Yeah.
Speaker 2:Well, yes, he does he does, but what I'm saying? he doesn't have the power that gas gaslam has. True that you know? I mean yes, so that's my point. Like he, I think, I think I think Shafka Can get the better of the exchanges right on the on stand-up And we know that gaslam is no slouch, but I don't think he's Jeff Neal level of technique, right Yes. But he's got our that makes up for that. Okay, exactly, and that's my point. So this that's why I'm so excited about this, like there's so many unanswered questions here And there's so many potential from both, so you're like just this is gonna be a banger fool, so excited this fight is happening.
Speaker 1:So cuz an ants, got a revolver to your nutsack right now And he's pulling the camera back and he's like who you got in this one motherfucker.
Speaker 2:Fool, you got a pig. First of all. I know that she didn't loaded.
Speaker 1:I don't know about your nuts You got though. I gotta go with shop. I gotta go with shop.
Speaker 2:I think he's got a little bit more tools. I think he'll play it smarter. Not that Kevin gaslam, it isn't, you know, it doesn't know what he's doing. He's a veteran, for sure. But I think she You're like fighting IQ shopcots got a better fighting IQ. So I think he can, he can put to his game plan into, into play better than then gaslam does, or yeah.
Speaker 1:I agree, dude. I think this is gonna be where the agent experience works against Kelvin. You know, he's got that wear and tear dude and shop like we've got two fighters on two different trajectories. We got one guy on the come up and we got one guy trying to climb back up and He's taking a lot of damage on his way up. The first time He got knocked all the way back down and came back up and Has been taking tons of damage as well as dishing it out. But I just feel like the mileage is gonna be too much. We got like You just bought an import racer engine from Japan That's got 75,000 miles on it that you didn't know about and you're about to drop it into your Honda Civic full and you think you're gonna go out and race fools and beat everybody. But hey, once you look under that hood you know It's gonna make a difference. And I think that that that rock monof is, just like I said, on a on a different path right now. Well, and that fight IQ, he's not gonna fuck around, he's not gonna get in there and stand in bang Until he knows that he, he's ready to move in for the kill. Yeah, and at that point It's too late, bro. Yeah, it's kind of like when my first jujitsu coach was was asked Hey coach, how do I get out of a triangle? and he's, like you, already fucked up, bro. Step one Yeah, maybe that's why we're that's legit. Don't get caught in triangles out there guys.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know I should quit your jitsu gotcha Bye.
Speaker 1:Bro, what about this graphic here? I don't even know where I found it. I.
Speaker 2:Sell everybody what?
Speaker 1:This is so good, so good for you, those of you watching on YouTube. You're welcome. And This is actually from somebody's YouTube page, the MMA holes. They got a super good YouTube page where they do a lot of the same stuff that we do, but this graphic was used on their video. I don't know if they created it or not, but go check it out, but it's. It's the ultimate fighter season 31 graphic that you always have seen, except with the twist Conor McGregor holding a little. What would you call that for?
Speaker 2:a little container like here, little container, some powder, some, some, some unknown powder of some kind.
Speaker 1:Not only in the little cup, but also little little mustache.
Speaker 2:He's got a mustache of that unknown powder underneath his nose.
Speaker 1:What could he say? like, bro, it's powder sugar, all right, and for some reason Michael Chandler's dealing with the worst case of pink guy you've ever seen. That looks awful. Dude Carter snuck into his, his chateau and farted on his pillow.
Speaker 2:Oh well, that actually looks like he didn't fart on his pillow, he just fucking straight up farted into his eye.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's bad news. Sorry, channel, that's really the reason why they're not fighting, though.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:So fun though, i'm gonna ask you, like I've been asking you the last few weeks Bonzo, did you watch ultimate fighter, season 31, episode 5?
Speaker 2:No, i just watched social media. Yeah, fuck it. Bullshit that's been going around like I I. Ever since I've The season started, i've been keeping up with social media where people say about it and everything ranking on it, bro, they just every single week. It tells me that I shouldn't watch it.
Speaker 1:They just throw gasoline. And then, yeah, let her match, people don't give a fuck. And yeah, dude, honestly I I had to watch the show like three times because I would get distracted, i would like I'm not even paying attention to it. And then you, next thing, you know, it's like 20 minutes later like oh fuck, it's already gonna finish and we go back and rewind it and watch it again. So it took me a little while to get through the show, but let me give you the recaps. So I don't remember how they got to this point because I've lost interest. But next thing I know I'm looking at the TV and caught him, a greggers, on a rolling machine and He's like it looked like he was in some type of a contest with his team. They were having a contest to see who could roll the hardest. I don't know See who could get their heart elevated the highest level. So Connor was like time out. Let me go to the bathroom, real quick.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was gonna say that's easy. You got all them nosebears. You can get your heart rate at your astronautical levels at that point.
Speaker 1:Pretty sure he was able to roll around the world in like 20 seconds. Hold my beer. Yeah, i don't know who won that competition. We pretty sure was Connor, but The guy that was supposed to be fighting on the show or on this episode, brad Katona, who's on Michael Chandler's team. But in real life, bro, he trains with Connor and John Kavanaugh. Oh shit so he's part of that team over there. But so check this out, dude. Like almost I guess after every practice he goes and talks to them, which is cool, right, like, yeah, you should go talk to your training partner or your coach, right? Yeah. But your whole squad is waiting for you in the van and they can't go home and shower E Do whatever they're gonna do after training because they're waiting for you Oh. Oh is that cool. No, bro, i totally relate to this because I'm part of a vanpool on the daily in my normal nine-to-five And this I hate. This dude. You can do whatever you want, but when it's when you're on our time, that pisses me off. So I totally get that the team is pissed off at him for doing that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1:Another thing that ended up happening was Brad, who's part of the team You know he's part of Chandler's team was asking for, like specific one-on-one coaching. He wanted to watch videos with it, with coaches. He wanted to Stop doing new stuff and just focus on what he was actually gonna be doing in the fight. And Chandler kind of seemed like he was annoyed because he Chandler's like bro, you're part of the team, we're doing this for everybody, but yeah, as we get closer to your fight, we're gonna start doing some of that stuff and I don't know just kind of seemed like he was being They. They made it look like Brad was being a diva and asking for too much.
Speaker 2:I Kind of agree with that, though, man.
Speaker 1:Yeah, i mean yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, i kind of agree, just because you're right, man, like if you, once you get closer to a fight, that's how any gym works, so you go to a gym. Like everybody's trained, like we got to realize, man, you're training everybody's, everybody's at the same pace. Now, if you got a fight coming up And you're getting closer to that fight, yeah, you're gonna spend more one-on-one time with the coach, you know I mean. But at the same time, like everybody else is there to get their own. You know training as well. So you got it. You got to balance both of those out. So I agree with that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, all right, yeah. So in the fight, brad Katona ended up taking on Cardinals Vera Dude. This was probably one of the worst fights of the show so far, for sure, and none of them have actually been that good at all.
Speaker 2:So, so let me ask you a question. So this has been the worst, right What? but I mean why? why has, in your opinion, since you've been watching the show, why is Connor, oh, and six like, why is all the prospects? just because they're prospects and they're taking on veterans? Probably like is it just? is it like coaching? What else is going on?
Speaker 1:I a little bit of both, you know. I mean, imagine you're a blue belt and you're gonna fight a brown belt, like what? what's gonna happen? Everything you do. That guy already has seen in the in a real fight, or Some were in training, at least at a minimum. So these guys have already been to the show.
Speaker 2:But these prospects, like they've been in lower promotions before, right, they're coming out of lower, so they've been tested, just not not to this level not this level.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Yeah and then and on top of that, you know what I mean Maybe they're, maybe they're not getting coached up as as well as they should be, i don't know. Maybe they're focusing on the wrong stuff, i don't know. But Brad Katona ends up winning by unanimous decision. I Don't even really remember too much of the highlights. There were some takedowns, there was some Whack-ass grounding pound, there were some submission attempts or some striking on the feet by By Carlos Vera. He took over the second round for a little bit, letting some clean strikes, and then Brad just got a takedown and then that was it. He was never, never able to get back up, dude. So Chandler's team wins again, and now they're like five and oh. So we'll see what happens. It looks like next week is the episode where Chandler gets pushed by Connor. Not that that not that that means anything, but just means we're getting closer to the end of the season, thank God.
Speaker 2:Well, i appreciate you taking one for the team and watching on our behalf. Frank, sure man, you're the real.
Speaker 1:MVP. Well, we'll see. We'll see what happens. If I can stick around, maybe I'm gonna jump ship and do like you and just see what happens on social media. Dude, this guy fucks, fools up.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, I know yeah, he's got a tough fight coming up, though, so we'll talk about this guy's a motherfucker dude.
Speaker 1:But if he can keep it on the feed, dude, he's gonna fuck him up. Go bro, introduce the next story.
Speaker 2:All right. So our next story is about Guy. We've been watching, or I've been watching. I know you, frank, you started watching coming him up pretty, pretty recently as well but I don't know this guy personally, but I do know one of the guys that's been Training with with this next fighter for quite some time. He's one of our well, my previous coach, doro Garcia, one of one of his fighting partners and we're talking about it got chitos from sick Mexican fighters. He officially signed with the UFC recently, so he's gonna be making his UFC debut and we're all for it because Super oh man, edgar Titus is a legit fighter man. When you, when you think of a fighter, this is a guy that you think about. Right, he's, he doesn't, he's not afraid to scrap, he puts on wars and shows. So we're super excited about it.
Speaker 1:Dude he reminds me of like a more athletic and faster Kenny Florian, because he gets in that pocket, he throws them elbows and hands dude.
Speaker 2:He's yeah, he's an orthodox with his shots. That's why he's so entertaining. You know what I mean? Yes, like he, he like I. I don't mean it in a bad way, but he throws technique at the window. Like I said that in a positive way because of how.
Speaker 1:I was chaos.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, how effective it's been for him. You know what I mean. Like like he's. He's a scrapper dude, he's a scrapper through and through. So you know what I mean. With that said, the opponent that set up, that's been set up for him, makes this fight even way more. It takes my excitement level of him joining UFC from here Like that is super high already to like bam all the way up You know what I mean.
Speaker 1:So who's he taking on fun?
Speaker 2:So he's taking on tattooed otaida. Now this guy's Like pretty new, right. He's new on the scene as well. Young kid I you know. I didn't know too much about him, but once I found out who like who Chaitis was, was going up against, i made I made it a mission to go and find out. And This kid is a jit man. He's got like, he's pretty well-rounded, he's young, he's got amazing ground game. Yes and He's a real threat.
Speaker 1:He's a real threat for, for, for Chaitis for sure dude, was Titus last fight against Jesus Aguilar, or has he had another fight since then?
Speaker 2:That's the one that I Remember him most recent for. I don't know if he's had another fight after him. I don't think I can, i don't. Yeah, i can look at up real quick.
Speaker 1:Jesus Aguilar is a former dethrone fighter, old-school training partner, his ground game, dude. He's Explosive on the ground. If you get, if you can sub that cat, if you can keep up with him and catch him in a sub, you're something else, dude, and Tatsuro got one in the in the first round against him. Well he survived that.
Speaker 2:That our main guillotine too. I mean it wasn't super threatening, so like even like the whole time that he was holding on to that, i knew that tattoo wasn't in a real Like predicament but also the fact that he was able just to like he was super relaxed when he was, when he was in that. So I was like, oh yeah, like this isn't you know, this isn't gonna do anything like he's gonna survive this and he's gonna take back. But the fact that he was able to get mount and then dominate him until he got that sub, like just legit, yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, killer, dude, he had one thing on his mind and that was it. But, uh, going back to Edgar, dude, edgar was on Dana white's contender series a while back and did he lose by decision? Shit, i don't remember, dude, i forgot. I know he lost, but, dude, he's back. He'd made such an impression on Dana white after his last fight He was on fury FC 76 And I believe he was fighting for their flyweight strap and he ended up winning round four by arm bar against Gianni Vasquez. Yeah, so he's on a little win streak ever since his Dana white contender series. So I'm excited, dude. Hopefully he can keep this on the feet because if he does, bro, that is his realm, that is his world. Hopefully he can create that chaos and a score of w for the homies. Man, that's what's up. So, edgar, super proud of you, bro, and we're all behind you. Up, oh young, up there, bro, can't wait to see you in a few weeks, man. Yeah, isn't it a few weeks already?
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's coming up next week. I also want to say man, you're right, man, he's won by submission, so he's no slouch on the ground either. Yeah, but you know, if he does go to the ground it's gonna be a little bit of a tougher fight for him. So we're not, you know, we're not saying that he's, he's not good on the ground, is just that he like, if he keeps it on the feet, it's way better road to victory for him, for sure for sure That's like his realm.
Speaker 1:You know what I mean. Like you always want to take the game to where you're, to where you have your best weapons. You know what I mean. Like you got a good spider guard, you know me. You want to play guard. You want to get on that bottom. You want to get your grips in. You know I mean. You don't want to stay on topping, work your passes or whatnot. You know what I mean. You want to. When it's fight time, you want to do what your best. So it's gonna be a barn burner bro. Thank you, so thank you for sure.
Speaker 2:Yep, so a gir Salute compa a good luck.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, all right, bro. Brendan Allen, we were talking about him, was it last week, the week before?
Speaker 2:Yeah, a couple weeks ago.
Speaker 1:So he just beat the crap out of Bruno Silva and The UFC offered him another fight, and let's check out What he had to say about it.
Speaker 3:I heard they offered Eamon off in And Roman like the night of the fight, and it did. It never even got back to me, like it didn't even get back to me. It was cut off there. So this is.
Speaker 1:Brendan Allen being interviewed by just again. Roman, i guess, like. I said talking whatever.
Speaker 3:But Again, we told him that we're gonna wait and see what happens with Jirkes and Whitaker and if that's the play, he's number five. So obviously if you lose you probably wouldn't drop. So It's, it's just. It's just the play. So to me It's drickets. And if not drickets then we'll reevaluate the situation.
Speaker 1:But I heard they offered So he got offered Roman to lead. See who's ranked number nine You gotta friend by that. Brendan Allen's ranked number 11 and he was like no, i don't want that. I'm gonna wait to see who loses, to see what happens between the driest drick is and and Robert Whitaker fight. And he really wants the drink is fight because drink is ranked number five. He thinks he can beat him. He thinks that's his way into the top five, i guess. Yeah, but no I mean, do you think that he's done enough to be able to call this type of shot though?
Speaker 2:No, but he can't blame him for trying. Yeah, right, you know, i mean, like now, i don't think so I I think the Roman fight makes sense.
Speaker 1:That makes sense to me, but I mean look, he wants to move up faster And of course, which is which? of course he should. You know what I mean?
Speaker 2:Well, not only that, but that's that's exactly what what the roadmap Has been for a long time right, that's out like that's. That's how Connor did it. You know He's calling out people. That's how Colby Covington you know I mean like you make a name for yourself by doing that. It's been proven time and time again that if you just wait your turn, You can't just call them out like.
Speaker 1:You got to call them out a specific way and I know. I, i get it Right, right, yeah, if he's gonna hold out like, bro, if you're gonna do this, you got to go all in, because you can't just be like putting your toe in the water and be like, no, i'm gonna write you know what I mean like dude. Yeah, you're right. He wants that fight, call for it and talk the most crap you could to get the most eyes on you, to generate the most buys, because that's what the UFC drives. That's what drives the UFC dude, unfortunately, you know yeah, no, you're absolutely right.
Speaker 2:You're absolutely right.
Speaker 1:I mean, you can't blame it for trying, but You sure, just like Michael Scott on the office said, you miss a hundred percent of the shots you don't take. All right, next story, bro, you get to pour you headline UFC on ABC last week and be the Hair off of Josh Emmett. His hair will never grow back, ever. So there's been a lot of steam coming off after that and You know Vulcan off. He's got a match coming up next week against Yair Rodriguez, so he's defending his strap, but he's. Our people are already chirping like yo. What do you think about a match against Ilya? That would be good I. that would be an entertaining fight, so focus. like yo, i don't want to Overlook Yair right now.
Speaker 2:That's who I'm focusing on, uh, but yeah good on him, man, yeah good on me Yeah, i mean yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's that's why. Yeah, that's why Volk is a fucking goat man. That's why.
Speaker 1:That's probably like the PC answer, to say you know what I mean? Yeah, but because you don't want to overlook your current opponent. But dude, if he can get past Yair, this would be a pretty good fight. Yeah, i'm for it. I'm for it, yeah, yeah, so I is Ilya. What, what? where's he ranked right?
Speaker 2:now He's right. Now He's at number five Five looks like he jumped up four spots since his last fight. So yeah, i mean that's he's right in there. Man, he's in the top five and I mean consider considering that the next I mean above him, is only like max hollowing brian, or take it and arnold allen, that's. That's well, yeah, under arnold anil, has he? he hasn't fought volk yet, right.
Speaker 1:I don't know. No, he just fought max and he lost, remember, yeah, yeah. So an arnold allen Ilya fight would be sick. An a Ilya versus Matt versus, uh, brian would be sick too, yeah, or?
Speaker 2:He'll go and and those would be good. You know if if, in the event that yae does Be Volk, then I would definitely want to see those right Ilya versus arnold or Ilya versus brian.
Speaker 1:Let's keep that on the rep right now because we're gonna be making our picks for two nights at the end of this show. So we got lots to talk about my friend lots, dude, did you hear about this earlier in the week? So I guess drakes du pluses went on a podcast and gave an interview And he said that he had a back in like 2014 or some shit.
Speaker 2:I'm glad I didn't hear this In 2014.
Speaker 1:He trained with izzy and he he got the best of him.
Speaker 2:Full. This is, this is uh, this is like the time that you showed Your pops the first you like MMA event and he just like by Kim ensign as a chingaderas, like that's yeah, that's my reaction to this right now full. I'm not, i'm not here for this.
Speaker 1:For sure, dude. This is trash, this is freak, is just trying to create smoke. I don't know, dude, but since when does training? and first of all, you're not even supposed to talk about training. Right, I'm saying right, but. And then the other thing is I guess that this sparring match or this training session was only grappling, so there is no striking.
Speaker 2:So I explained to everybody who's not watching the video What happened, what was, what was the exchange There's?
Speaker 1:no video. There's no video. It was just drick is saying a, i got the best of them, i got. I fucked him up. You know what I mean? I got him and, uh, when izzy was asked about this, he's like oh yeah, that was 2014, so long ago. I remember, like on the grappling he had me, but on striking I just messed him up. And then drick is came back and was like he's 100 correct in that I did man And man handle him in grappling and wrestling exchanges, but we did not do a single round of striking together, not one. So that just goes to show you, dude, like you're only playing with half of the game And that half of the game is 100 of his game, right, right. So, yeah, no, dude, that's like me telling fondle Yo, we're gonna play some red dead redemption, but you're gonna play on your controller and I'm gonna play on my keyboard and mouse. Bro, nah nah, it's not the same bro, not the same. Drick is settled down, focused on Whitaker dude next story. Did you hear about this? So the UFC champ, the for the current light heavyweight champ, jamal hill, chirpin at cori Anderson from Bellator as Cori Anderson laughs off words, war of words with jamal hill. He's the champ And he's the champ. Who has he beat? so these guys started chirping each other.
Speaker 2:Okay, no, I didn't. I didn't hear that.
Speaker 1:So I was like what were they saying?
Speaker 2:What were they saying to each other?
Speaker 1:Well, this is what cori said. Everybody's laughing, talking He's the champ. He's the champ. Who has he beat? Everybody's going to say he's the best because he's in the UFC. And I'm in bellator. Say what you want, you put us in the cage. I'm gonna dust you off, playboy. You ain't got nothing, damn. So let's look at their records. So I'm gonna look at, uh, cori Anderson's record. He's now in bellator. He last beat phil davis by split decision. Before that, he lost to valium nem nem cough by unanimous decision. Before that it was a no contest clash of heads. And then, before that, he beat ryan baiter. And then, before that, he beat I don't know how to say that guy's name dolvet zan yagash, whatever. And then, before that, he beat melvin manhoff. Dude, melvin manhoff is way smaller than cori anderson, all right, so that's cori's record.
Speaker 2:But not only that, but I feel like, like you know, the rest of his record doesn't like. I mean you got ryan baiter, i mean he's, i mean he's good, but he's, yeah, he's, he's, yeah, he's. He's not as good as he once was. Neither is phil davis, You know I mean phil davis was. I mean he's not a slouch and he still isn't, but He's not the same caliber of the people.
Speaker 1:Let's look at jamal hills record Last fought glover to share for the strap which he won by unanimous decision fight He took out tiago santos with elbows, tko round four. Before that he ko johnny walker, before that jimmy ko jimmy crew. And then remember when he got his Arm dislocated by paul craig, that's really his only blemish and it is his only loss in his whole record. So I mean I I kind of see Uh cori's point where, yeah, i mean I don't think he's the biggest The best like heavyweight, but he's, but he's proven, he is right now. Yeah, for sure right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he's proven himself for sure.
Speaker 1:Comparing, comparing records. I for sure think jamal hill's gone through more of a fire And came out on top more times, but anderson i'm gonna steal one of your quotes here.
Speaker 2:Frank, that's neither here nor there Who? that's what i'm talking about, bro. Yeah, simply because we know these fools ain't gonna step in the ring. Yeah, yeah, they ain't never stepping in the ring together.
Speaker 1:Maybe they can do like a backyard fight or some shit. I'm all for that one Hell yeah, bro. How about last night's show, ufc fight night on espn bro Strickland versus maga medoff? Let's go. You ready to do this? I don't want to go through the whole card, i only want to go through the bangers. Yes go ahead.
Speaker 2:I only saw one of the bangers fool, so you got to walk me through some of them.
Speaker 1:How much of this show did you get to watch?
Speaker 2:I think I watched From the last prelim And then I watched the main card.
Speaker 1:All right, so I got a couple prelims That you got to watch and everyone out there has got to watch, starting with gurum kudalitze Taking on elvis brender. This was a lightweight matchup. Gurum kudalitze, i guess, is a Georgian athlete, so his boy is, uh, none other than my boy, morabdavish vily.
Speaker 2:Damn Bro autograph Sick. Is that the one he wrote in crayon fool?
Speaker 1:blue.
Speaker 2:Nice.
Speaker 1:I'll post a pic later today so you guys can check it out. I think we're fucking around. We're not Bro. He's one of the big crayons too, not the little ones was dropping Hammers and f in up elvis for the first couple of rounds, but elvis turned the table.
Speaker 2:Check and say stop stop teasing, as it show us, dude. Is his hair dyed red, or is that blood They got?
Speaker 1:no, he. So he came out looking like a skinny gordon ryan like a skinny, a skinny buff, a skinny buff. Santa claus With the white beard and the white hair, like an anorexic santa claus. More I should say, i guess.
Speaker 2:But he was not gonna be denied dude so that's blood in his hair, is what you're saying, oh?
Speaker 1:We came back and dropped hammers after taking a beating dude, because That cut on his forehead was done like in the second round. So is that an elbow or what? I don't remember how he got it. Might have been an elbow, but, dude, he was bleeding so much. In the second round It was almost like That started him off, okay, and then in the third round he came back and just fucking finished kind of like kind of like old school christle even. Yes, exactly, exactly, dude. Look at this left hook. Look boosh right to the ear hole Dropped gurum. And then he finishes them with uh by tkl. So that was Suprelim's dude. That was. I know you missed that one. But what about this one? Did you see Joe Anderson brittle taking on weston wilson, my man, uh show it.
Speaker 2:Let me see if I did. I don't think I might. I don't think I did. No, this is no. I didn't want this round one.
Speaker 1:This is dangerous weston fucking around with feet, stuff. Okay, come to backside Brito trying to pull his leg out. And then he got excited And then he's like oh wait, a minute, i can sit up, i can sit up and do this.
Speaker 2:You mean, i can just hit you in the face while you try to do this shit.
Speaker 1:Look at that shit, dude. That's the game. Dude. That's the dangerous part about going for leg locks in in MMA is you're exposed, you know. So you either got to get it super quick or you gotta abandon it if you don't get it. You know what I mean? Because look at, he's stretching his leg out.
Speaker 2:He didn't even have it below the knee, the knee line, and then damn, he's out too. He was out. He said he's bouncing out of the like, bouncing off the mat, yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he was done, dude, Those were some hammers. So what? Jo Anderson Brito ends up finishing Weston Wilson round one by TKO. Sick ass fight still in the prelims. And then you saw this one Yes, kevin Lee, renault, fucker it Dean off Renault. This is his first fight in the UFC, i believe, am I right? I Don't know actually and it was also Kevin Lee's first time back in the UFC, so let's check this out.
Speaker 2:Right hand, he's out he's already out.
Speaker 1:That's him in a body bag. For those of you out there listening, rena hits Kevin Lee with a hard right hand, drops and dead in these tracks and instead of following it up with shots, he's like oh bro, i see your neck right there and locks in the sickest guillotine ever Marcella Garcia would be super proud of you, bro and he puts into sleep. So Kevin Lee gets demolished in the first round. We'll see what happens. Love to see Kevin Lee back, but Yeah, sorry, kevin Lee on the wrong side today. Dude Main card. How much of the main card did you get to see?
Speaker 2:I watched All the main card. I mean I'll put this caveat on it. I was playing red dead redemption, so I kept one eye on the screen and then one eye Looking out for bandits, so oh yeah, that's what's up.
Speaker 1:That's what's. That's how you do it, all right. So this was Bruno Federita taking on a nurse. Sultan, who's a bay off. Let's Someone's having a bad day back here Hairball or something pretty nasty. All right, get back to these highlights. Let's check this out.
Speaker 2:There's a point that has 23 first round finishes, and.
Speaker 1:Federita was fucking this guy up for a while in the first early round.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I do remember this. Yeah, fucked them up. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Caught him with the right hand. Dude. Look at this replay right here.
Speaker 2:Yeah, look at this slow mo. No, they kick right hand Counter catches it. Yeah, and that was, that was a defining one, like the right hand was was good, but the fact that he was able to catch that, that ankle and do that ankle pick, like that's how he ended up. Like fucking him up, because if it was just that right hand He would, he would have backed up and then it would have. The fight would have continued, yeah, but he was able to drop him and then just land those bombs.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think catching that kid caught him off balance and then that right hand just sent him over now.
Speaker 2:That was beautiful man And that was that was perfectly executed. That was great technique dude.
Speaker 1:I bet you he drills that like an MF, or that's exactly what it looked like right, you're right Yeah. All right, next fight dude Ishmael Bumpine taking on Benoit San Denise. Ishmael Bumpine Coming in with a lot of hype behind him because of his last fight he Knocked the fuck out of Terrence T Rex McKinney. Remember that He was like a flying mean or some shit. So I think. I think Ishmael also has a brother in the UFC, who was also on that same card in one, but this time he's on the card by himself and Things did not go exactly as planned. Let's watch this clip here.
Speaker 2:Yeah, those were fun shots. I was surprised that he didn't hit his liver and knocked knocked him out just for a liver shot, you know what I mean? Like, because those were straight straight in that, that region. But this was just fucking crazy. I didn't think he was gonna submit him here.
Speaker 1:Yeah, no. So uh sondani ends up winning by rear naked. Right after the body shots He eventually got uh bone fiend to the ground, took his back and then suck in the rear naked before round one was over. So he got it done in the first round.
Speaker 2:Dude that was crazy too. Yeah, he, I thought it was he was gonna make it to get in a round. I was like yeah, yeah, yeah, because he was struggling to get under the chin when I thought he was gonna put a whooping on On uh benoit.
Speaker 1:But dude, benoit looked really good. And then did you hear his post fight speech? No, i didn't what he said. He called out camrod. Ha ha, do that.
Speaker 2:That'd be great. That'd be great.
Speaker 1:Dude, great, let's do it. My money, i want to see it, that's right. Nook noop, all right, bro, main event Sean Strickland taking on abus mogel met off All the riders. Everyone in the game had abus Just putting a beat down on Sean Strickland. Everyone's thinking Sean Strickland's just gotta come in and get walked down. But that was Not opposite, my friend. Total opposite, total opposite. What?
Speaker 2:did? we see, it was like backwards day for Sean Strickland. Dude, sean Strickland just walked him down. Yeah, dude there was there was nothing. There was nothing magma met off could do at all.
Speaker 1:Oh man, what are we waiting for? It's like throwing paper airplanes at Godzilla.
Speaker 2:Yeah Yeah. It was like fucking. It was like if I was like In red dead redemption with a pea shooter and I had like 10 bandits around me, That's exactly what it was 47.
Speaker 1:Yeah, dude, he beat the shit out of him And he he rained down them shots, dude, so round two, sean Strickland, tko Damn it? We should have put money on that.
Speaker 3:I didn't see that one coming. I didn't see that one coming.
Speaker 1:I didn't think that was gonna happen, but it happened. That's why we watch the fights. Let's go Here we go. Chingosso's combat crew big money picks frank. We're ready to break down. Ufc 290 international five week fun. So how stoked are you for this card, my man? How stoked are you?
Speaker 2:Oh man, I am ready. I I wish it was. It was here already. We're so close.
Speaker 1:We're so close, like Six sleeps away sunday night, monday night, tuesday night, wednesday night, thursday night, friday night, that's all we got. Six picks, bro, six picks, six days away, six sleeps, let's fucking go. This card is so stacked top To bottom bro.
Speaker 2:You know, you know what this is like it was. Like it's like when your parents told you you're going with dizzy land And you can't wait for that to happen. Like you can't even sleep. Like that's how good this is.
Speaker 1:Yes, exactly like that. I'm on the edge of my seat. We got good fights on the early prelims, on the prelims, and, of course, the main card is going to be off the hook. So, uh, i'm going to go over the fights that matter the most to us, starting with this early prelims match. Talk about shannon ross taking on our boy from dethrone back in the day, jesus agilad. Jesus, i glad this is a flyaway bow Jesus Agilad coming in as a minus 230 favorite taking on shannon ross who is the plus 195 dog. Shannon ross last lost his last fight to klayton rodriguez by ko round one 59 seconds into the match and, uh, jesus, his last match We just talked about. Just talked about a tatsudo tida submission round one. Almost made it out of the first, out of the first round, unfortunately lost. But uh, dude, this is more of a favorite matchup for Jesus. Yeah, i dude, i see another bad night for shannon. On this one I agree.
Speaker 2:I agree, man. Um, i think his shoes definitely has all the tools to win this fight. Um, he doesn't have the same threats at tatsudo. You know what I mean. So I really don't see shannon being able to to um overtake his shoes at all in any, any part of the game. Um, this should be a pretty good, a pretty good set of this matchup for his shoes, and he should put on a show here. That's what I'm expecting, bro.
Speaker 1:I'm gonna show, i'm gonna tell you right here He's gonna He's gotta make a statement because this is his second fight in. He does not want to get cut and he's got the skills dude, he can hang at this level, i mean I'm being super biased. but he, i'm telling you, dude, i've seen it, i know and he's gonna prove it on this night I'm going Jesus Aguilar, submission round two. watch what's what's up.
Speaker 2:He's gonna drop him with hands, bro, because he's gonna have the timing down.
Speaker 1:He's got the speed advantage and once he hurts him He's gonna drop him and he's not gonna Finish it with ground and pound, he's gonna go for the sub instantly.
Speaker 2:Watch okay. Okay, i'm going, i'm going TKO round two his society, all right. So you'll go TKO. I'm going sub, all right.
Speaker 1:We're on the same page. I like it. I like it, that's right, that's right. Next matchup We're. We're gonna talk about number 14, light heavyweight. Jimmy crew taking on Alonzo Menafield. Jimmy crew, a slight plus 100 favorite. Jimmy crew, a slight plus 100 favorite. Alonzo Menafield, a slight or, i'm sorry, jimmy crew, the slight dog at a plus 100 and Alonzo Menafield is the favorite at minus 120. Jimmy crew coming in off of a, did he? yeah, he lost right, got knocked the fuck out by Jamal you within a minute, uh, and then, before that, though, he had a victory over Anthony Smith by no no.
Speaker 2:Anthony Anthony Smith one.
Speaker 1:Oh, i'm sorry. I'm sorry, you're right, anthony Smith, dude, why is this? Oh, i see, start over three, two, all right. next matchup number 14 Jimmy crew, a slight underdog coming in at plus 100, taking on Alonzo Menafield, a slight favorite, at minus 120. Jimmy crew, coming on Back-to-back losses. Is that correct, fonzo?
Speaker 2:That's correct, man, that's all hell, anthony Smith.
Speaker 1:And not only back-to-back losses, but back-to-back TKO KO losses, bro, yeah, yeah, that is bad news. Alonzo Menafield coming in, uh, with a win. Both uh two looks like a two-fight victory. Two-fight winning streak Last beating Misha circuit off by TKO round one, and then beating Askar and Mazurov by TKO round one as well.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, so here's the deal. Man, like I'm torn, man because Alonzo it, like He's, he's, he's good, right, like he's been, he's been on a little bit of a tear, um, but at the same time, like if you're looking at the caliber of fighters, he's motherfuckers of the fight.
Speaker 1:Opposite ends of the spectrum.
Speaker 2:Exactly So. one of them is on his way down, the other one's on his way up, and this is one of those classic matchups where that's why the odds are the way they are Like you don't know right, you don't know how how hard jimmy crude is is falling, and you don't know Alonzo's Menafield star like rising power is. so It's a toss up for me, man, it's hard, that's I mean. okay, so if I'm gonna go with one, I'll go jimmy crew bro. I'm gonna go jimmy crew too. Yeah, and because of the caliber of fighters, he's, he's, he's fought already. You know what I mean, even though he's lost Spectacularly these last two fights.
Speaker 1:He's lost to a level fighters, we're exactly. Alonzo has fought C level fighters at best right.
Speaker 2:So I okay. So prediction I would say this is gonna go, this is gonna go the distance. So I got jimmy crew decision, um, and it'll probably be unanimous.
Speaker 1:I think. so I'm with you on that one, bro. Uh, i just feel like this is like you know, like when, when you do a jiu-jitsu tournament and you lose and you're like, oh, you feel like shit, and your coach is like, bro, don't even worry about it. Like you, you learn, you grew from this, you're gonna get better, and you go back to the gym the next day Or that next week and you just feel So much better, so you perform better. I think that's what's gonna happen, like you know. I mean may have jimmy crew got this demolished by Jamal hill, demolished by Anthony Smith, but those are upper echelon dudes, whereas Alonzo menfield Is trolling with white belts and, yeah, he finished them, but that's because that's what you should do, you know what I mean, but they're white belts, yeah, so this can be a true test for both of these.
Speaker 2:So you think this is like a two-note fight for jimmy crew.
Speaker 1:Um, i don't think it's a two-note fight. I think this is a better, a more mat, a favorable matchup for him for sure. Okay, so I'm gonna go. Jimmy crew decision. Like you, my man, i don't think that he's gonna be able to put out Alonzo just because he's tough dude, he's stocky, he's, he's got great standard, he can take a shot. Uh, but jimmy crew, it's just been on another level as far as caliber of opponents and he's seen more danger.
Speaker 2:I agree, i agree.
Speaker 1:So moving on, dude, i'm super upset about Super upset, because we are supposed to get Sean Brady taking on jack Della Maddalena, but it looks like Sean Brady is out and who's supposed to be stepping in? dude? Chris Curtis.
Speaker 2:Amen, I'm not mad at that.
Speaker 1:So it looks like Chris Curtis is gonna be taking on Taking on uh JDM at last second. So how many days does he have to prepare for this?
Speaker 2:Fuck when was this announced like like two days ago?
Speaker 1:Maybe not that long ago. So, and, and Chris just fought not too long ago as well. No, yeah, he did Nasser Dean, that was really no contest back on june 10. So it hasn't even been a month. So is he concussed? and then his fight before that Was, uh, he got headbutted as well, remember, yeah, yeah. So is he so concussed that he's taking on any fight he can get? Well, here's the deal, man.
Speaker 2:Like if he was concussed, like he wouldn't be clear to fight yet, true? So you know what I mean. I don't think. I don't think he's he's concussed, you know what I mean. Like is he at 100%? Well, no fucking fighter ever is. Nobody is for sure. So I don't know, like I'm not mad at it. You know what I mean. I think I would have liked to see this fight. Um, if they were both, like, prepared for it. You know what I mean. A full camp, a full camp behind them. I would have loved it more, but I'm not mad at it. It's a good replacement. You know what I mean. Yeah, it's a good replacement. I'm gonna go ahead and get it. I'm yeah, it's a good replacement.
Speaker 1:I'm yeah, I'm not mad at it, but it's gonna be a good fight, but I think, jdm, i think it's gonna be the first time he goes three rounds, because I think that's how tough Curtis is.
Speaker 2:Okay, yeah, i, i was thinking second round, but you're right, It could go all three. I'm thinking jdm, i'm going jdm second round tko.
Speaker 1:Say that one more time, for also, you're going jdm what? second So jdm tko round two Yep, all right, all right Um Next fight. I think this is the main card now. Yes, bone nickel trey, shan gore.
Speaker 2:I think so Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yep, this is the main card now. Bone nickel, trey shan gore. Trey shan gore is a plus 750 Underdog, bro. Bone nickel, minus 1600, favorite dude.
Speaker 2:What the fuck? Why would they even make a fight like this?
Speaker 1:Because that's what dana white wants bro.
Speaker 2:All right, I'm going bone nickel Round one round two, because this ain't going three rounds round one, but I'm gonna put I'm a tk, but I'm gonna go ahead and put 50 bucks on trey shan gore just to fucking cover my bases, just to make some cash in case something happens.
Speaker 1:Dude, why don't you give me those 50 bucks? and I could buy a jam for my belt right here Because because they won't have the same return if trey shan gore wins. True that, true that. Put it on trey shan gore and then, once he wins, buy me all the jams for my bro. But you got it All right, thanks bro, i'm with you. Dude, i think bone nickel is gonna beat the snot out of trey shan. Trey shan's basically just taking a paycheck here. Uh, bone nickel, round one. Tko bro. I see a blast double Within the first 30 seconds. He's gonna pass within 10 seconds and then he's gonna rain hell from up top Up. Ain't gonna kill him.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's gonna be like like Thanos, with all five, all six, infinity stones on both hands. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, all right. Next five dude Jalen the tarantula Turner, taking on Dan Hooker, and I feel like this is the UFC. St Jaylin, we're sorry, gave you a bad matchup and you got knocked out out, but here's Dan Hooker. Now you can return the favor, because that's probably what's gonna happen. Yeah, I don't know I don't think he's gonna knock him out like that, but it's gonna be like it's gonna be a nasa woman dude. Jalen's gonna take him to the back of the woodshed and beat the Breaks off of this fool for three rounds. It's gonna be a three-round unanimous decision by Jalen Turner. I don't think that Dan Hooker has anything to offer Jalen Turner other than to help me make a highlight real here. Big, basic.
Speaker 2:Yeah, what do you think?
Speaker 1:man I.
Speaker 2:Think it's gonna be a little bit more competitive than that, because we know that hooker is no slouch, You know I mean, but at the same time I I don't think he's got what it takes to beat him. So it's definitely gonna Jaylin's gonna put on a clinic. This is a lot Yeah, but Dan Hooker is Okay, it's gonna be a brawl. It's gonna be a brawl, but Jalen Turner is definitely gonna fucking take. Take the better of all the exchanges, that that's exactly what's gonna happen.
Speaker 1:I think Dan's gonna try to turn it into a brawl, but Jalen is like he doesn't fight recklessly. He's actually pretty pretty. Yeah, yeah, and I think that Dan will try to cause chaos, but he's gonna leave himself open by doing that. And that's where Jalen's gonna capitalize because he's got that long reach Dude. He's a really good counter striker and he's just too Rangy dude like he can throw a knee. It's gonna be like Chris Tucker in Rush hour two when he's like what, which one are? y'all hit me.
Speaker 2:But then Dan. Dan is good at getting at the inside, so I think that's where he's gonna end up taking it to him.
Speaker 1:He's gonna gotta get inside first, and I don't think that Jalen's just gonna let him walk in there without no, no, no, you're right, he's not, he's not.
Speaker 2:But once he gets in, i think that's where. That's where the scrapping is gonna happen. That's why I'm excited for this fight.
Speaker 1:Yes, i'm excited for it. I do. Yeah, gonna be a good test for Jalen. Yeah, it's gonna tell us whether he's ready to keep moving up or he's where he's Agree, so what?
Speaker 2:are you?
Speaker 1:saying Basically, i guess now a prediction for it, i got Jalen Decision decision Yeah same same, yeah same. Jalen decision. I mean I mean all right, All right, dude, How about this one? It's not even coming event, dude. I wish we were hitting a five-rounder for this one, Yeah same here. Robert Whitaker. Number two middleweight taking on drink is to pluses the number five Middleweight drink is coming off that no surgery. So now he's got a full gas tank. How do you think this one's gonna play out Ponzo Well?
Speaker 2:you know, he's a thing man. I don't think I don't think Dupless's had a bad gas tank. He just looked like he did, i mean like he was able to go through rounds with no problem, i mean, but now that his nose is fixed I think he's gonna end up. I hope it makes a difference, like here's the thing. I think it will slide difference. How big of a difference I don't know. But This is gonna be a banger. This is gonna be a banger and I wouldn't be surprised a Robert Whitaker Fucks up You bless his nose again. You know what I mean. But we'll see, man, i got Robert Whitaker decision. I Just that's the way I see it happening man, how dare you know what I got?
Speaker 1:I got Robert Bobby Knuckles TKO round two, bro. I don't think that this search easy to put him away. Oh fuck, yeah, dude. I think that That, no matter what what Drick is is saying about his nose, like oh, now I can breathe, so now I'm gonna have more of a gas tank, i think that's bullshit, dude. Yeah, maybe his breathing was affected somewhat. It's not gonna be like all of a sudden he's got four lungs, bro.
Speaker 2:No, no, it's not.
Speaker 1:That's always spot sloppy. That's how he is, and if that's how you come in against Bobby Knuckles, he is gonna mow you down, bro. Okay this is gonna be like Norman, like Freaking storming the beach at Normandy and he's got a gaitling gun sitting up there. He's just gonna tear him up, dude.
Speaker 2:I just don't think he's gonna put him away, though I think I think Dupless He has He's gonna be able to withstand the chin like it's gonna be a fucking murder for sure. But it won't be like you, like he's gonna put him away. I think it's just gonna be a clinic of what Robert Whitaker can do. That's what's gonna happen.
Speaker 1:Every this is what I every fight that drink has has been in. He's nearly been put away. Yeah, he always comes back from the grave to snatch the victory Everyone he's fought has. I don't think it's gonna happen this time, taking him to the edge. And if those people have taken him to the edge, bro, bobby Knuckles is gonna bury his ass. Look at who, look at who. Who drink is his fault. Derek Brunson, darren, till Brattavara's, trevon Giles all of these guys he beat, but at some point in those fights They took him to that edge and almost took him out himself. You don't think that Bobby Knuckles is gonna get. Take him to that spot, yeah. I was like bro. I'm mad if he's gonna break stuff up and I think he will finish him.
Speaker 2:Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1:I also want. I'm also wondering who the ref is gonna be, because that that could play into it as well. I'm just glad, mario.
Speaker 2:Yamasaki isn't in the fucking ref anymore.
Speaker 1:Well, for drink is because he would freakin lose and come out with brain drum, brain damage. But if there's a judge in there or a ref in there who pulls a plug early, that could be bad news.
Speaker 2:For drink is Yeah, i agree, yeah, i agree.
Speaker 1:Bro, let's move on to co-made event, the Juana zone. Brandon Moreno, the champ at flyweight, taking on Alexander Pentosha. Brandon coming in as a minus 170 favorite, alexander Pentosha a plus 145 dog. Bonzo, i got that both resumes up on the screen. Brandon coming off of win off of Davidson by TKO round three. Before that, kai call reference, a TKO round three. Before that, a unanimous decision loss to Davidson. Before that, a rear naked decision or submission over Davidson. Before that, a draw over Davidson and then before that, a TKO over Brandon Roybal round one. Looking at Pentosha, he's coming off of a win over Alex Perez by submission round one, a Submission over Brandon Roybal round two in his last fight. Before that, a unanimous decision win over Menel Cape and then a loss to ask our ask, a wrong by unanimous decision. Before that and then before that, a win over Matt Chanel by TKO and then a loss to Davidson by unanimous decision. Bonzo, how do you think this gonna play for?
Speaker 2:Man, did you okay? I first I'll say I had to go watch their first fight, did you? well, their first, not, not the one in at the, at the tough I'm talking about the actual. you have so far words, yeah afterwards and Dude It's hard a different Brandon, though It was a different brand. It was a different Brandon, but Both these guys made improvements since then. Right, brandon is a fucking legend now. But If, if, alexandra Pentosha made the same Adjustments, this is gonna be a tough fight for Brandon man. And here's what I saw in that first fight. And you always have to go back to history, dude. Alexandra has just had just most cleanest Striking straight punches. Brandon's looping punches, like always beat him to the punch, always beat him, yes and that was seems to be faster. Yeah, and it's not just faster, it's just the fact that you know Brandon was looping versus straight punches for Alexandra. So you know, i mean, that's always gonna end up like if you're a more technical fighter, that's always gonna end up finding its mark more. And Brandon doesn't have the power to just one shot Alexander Pentosha, like he just doesn't.
Speaker 1:You know he's got that one shot kill dude.
Speaker 2:So that's the danger for Brandon here. I'm not saying that Brandon, like, is in a great fighter. He definitely is and actually, as a matter of fact, i'm just gonna say this now I'm picking Brandon to win this fight, but it is gonna be a fight, you know, i mean, and that's why I'm so for it, and that's why those odds aren't that crazy, you know, i mean, it's it, though you got to give the odds to Brandon because he's the champ, but he's not that far off, you know, i mean, so this is gonna be a banger, this is gonna be a tough knife for Brandon and Alex Pentosha. I see this going all the distance, the distance, and I see Brandon winning, winning the decision here For sure, you think.
Speaker 1:I'm with you, dude. I think Brandon's gonna get his revenge. I don't think that Brandon has the power to put out Pantosha. I think Pantosha's Ground game is gonna be too defensive for him to be submitted, to allow him to be submitted by Brandon, and it's just gonna be a culmination of points, dude. I think it's just gonna be a beatdown. I think it's gonna be like Izzy versus Alex all over, and he's gonna, he's gonna. You know, i know he's all in two against him, so he's got that on the back of his mind, but I don't think that Brandon is the same fighter that he was since the last time Pantosha fought.
Speaker 2:No, i think, I think what's gonna end up happening is He's? better, and the major improvement that Brandon has made is his wrestling, and he's gonna use that to claim, and he's striking too.
Speaker 1:He's striking a lot better It has.
Speaker 2:It has. But I think he's gonna end up using more of like a I want to say a random couture style of striking, like that dirty boxing, yes, like those little tactics. It won't be like a straight-up, like just like distance type of strike. He's gonna get in the pocket, land some shots, get some in in the clinch and then break out, do some more shots And that's how he's gonna edges out.
Speaker 1:That's what I think yeah, dude, and so I want. I went back and I watched Pantosha's last two fights against Brandon Royville and Alex Perez, and in both of those fights He came out guns blazing. Dude, he did not waste no time. He stopped those fools down and started throwing power shots right off the bat. Eventually he got Brandon Royville down in the second round, took his back and submitted him. Against Alex Perez He did the same thing, came right in, dropped all kinds of shots, dropped him, took his back, subbed him. You're not gonna do that to brand. I don't think so exactly, dude. You're not gonna. You're not gonna do that. But I'm wondering if that's gonna be part of his game plan to try to overwhelm him at the beginning and Empty the gas tank. And if he does that, that's gonna be a big mistake. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, i don't think either one of these guys will have the potential to finish the either either one, but I feel that Brandon is has established himself as a better fighter, has better skills, has improved with better coaches, and It's gonna have enough to overcome Pantosha this night and he's gonna win by unanimous decision, bro. Yeah, alright, dude. Main event Alexander Volkanovsky taking on Yahya Roger. He is, bro. What do you think about this fight? I'm so stoked. Hold on. Let me give you the stats, or the fight odds Alexander Volkanovsky a minus four sixty favorite over Yahya Rodriguez, who's coming in as a plus 320 underdog bro Damn. Let me share some pro bets with you real quick. Plus three hundred by either fighter to win by submission. That just goes to show you Vegas does not think this is gonna end in submission, bro, i agree. Yeah, here by decision plus six hundred. Vote by decision minus 170. This is this fight gonna go the distance minus one. Sixty six. Yes, plus one twenty four, no. Yeah, here by TKO KO plus six hundred. Voke by TKO KO plus three. Forty. Voke by TKO KO in round three or four plus eleven hundred. Camp, yeah, voke by TKO KO round three, four or five plus eight. Fifty, bro, yeah so it looks like everyone sounds legit go by, go all the all five rounds. What do you think this is gonna happen?
Speaker 2:I Don't know man, this is this. I'm torn, just just torn, because I Want ya here to keep the strap. But Voke is a beast and I mean, look at that man, look. Arguably you can say if you had one more round he would have beaten Makachev right, right and. I just I, yeah, i mean and, and, and Makachev. I Mean, look for all the hate that he gets you got to be real He is. He's real dude, he's for real. You can't take that away from him. And if Voke can do that to Makachev, i Don't think. Yeah, he's, sends chance, man.
Speaker 1:Well, this is gonna be a different game, though. This is like, bro, i'm telling you we're gonna play modern warfare tomorrow, but then the next day we're gonna play Final Fantasy. Like different games.
Speaker 2:But what I'm saying is dangerous. But what I'm saying, though, is, yeah, he doesn't have any of the, any of the skills that Would put Alexander in danger in any spot. Yeah, on the ground on the ground or on on Stand up.
Speaker 1:There's. There's no way. I think the only way for ya here, twin, is to finish this. He's either got to get a sub or he's got to get a KO TKO, and I think you can get either, and I don't think he can, because who's done that to vote. That's what I'm saying but so, and he's bought max who, yeah, maybe even a better striker because he did beat him right, yeah, but that the one. The one difference between max and ya year is that I think that ya year actually has that one shot, kill shot kind of like He has the potential to to dish out a shot that could stun you, paralyze you for a second, to Enable him to get a TKO possibly, but so did. Chad Bendis So did, so did Brian Ortega true, true, no, not Brian Ortega, though Brian Ortega just had subs. I don't think he's got one shot Knockout power, whereas ya year He's got kicks. I don't think he's got Hands to put him out, but he's got those crazy kicks, dude. But but other than that, outside of that, i don't think he's got a shot.
Speaker 2:Sorry, are you I?
Speaker 1:think this is gonna be Vulcan off ski by decision Or a KO round three, four or five.
Speaker 2:I'm gonna go with decision. I'm gonna go with decision.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, if I'm playing it safe, i'm gonna go vote decision for sure. So yeah, that's it bro.
Speaker 2:Why? why'd you got it in there? that's such a down note, for I didn't want to do that to ya. Eat, it's my boy.
Speaker 1:It's for the strap bro, it's to benefit the game. That's true, benefit the game. So the only thing that's gonna happen is we're gonna win because we're gonna see a great fight. So, yeah, that's it, my friends, everyone out there, fun. So anything for the fans and being anything for the listeners out there.
Speaker 2:I hope you guys enjoyed today's episode. Hey, it's 4th of July. Hope you're enjoying it out there. Get some fireworks, don't blow your hands off, your heads off. It peckers off. Stay safe. And, yeah, international fire, we can't wait.
Speaker 1:That's go six more sleeps Yo Chingosso's combat crew out. Have a safe, fantastic week. Everybody catch you next week, peace. You, you.
